Discover Cures For Panic Attacks

For those who suffer from panic anxiety disorders, life can be very unpredictable. Just shopping for groceries, driving, or riding public transportation can bring on an episode of immense fear, anxiety, trembling, the need to escape and a pounding heart, just to name a few. If the disorder is severe enough, the person may eventually become so frightened of the world outside his own home that he imprisons himself within the four walls of his house. This is why it is so important to get help and find natural or medical cures for panic attacks in order to allow these individuals to return to productive, normal lives. But first the person must be willing to exchange negative self talk for positive self speaking.

There are several methods and cures for panic attacks, such as positive self talk. biofeedback, medication in some instances, exercise, and individual or group therapy. This may include going out on short excursions to places that caused the panic attacks previously. Giving positive affirmations in each stressful situation will build the tools needed to overcome excess fear, anxiety and panic. Eventually, the individual will be able to go forward to a rewarding fruitful life because he will have successfully learned how to deal with his condition.

Other cures used for panic attacks are exercise. Walking, jogging, swimming and aerobics increase the endorphins in the brain which help stabilize mental health. Breathing exercises done properly help to calm the individual down greatly and will also help if used during stressful situations. The exercises are performed by inhaling deeply and slowly through the nose, then releasing in one big rush through the mouth. Breathing exercises practiced at certain times of the day will greatly reduce hyperventilation, another aspect of panic disorders.

Medication, especially anti depressants, are sometimes used as a cure for panic attacks because they increase serotonin levels in the brain. When this hormone is insufficient for whatever reason, the individual doesn't feel good about himself and may become quite depressed. If depression is added to the fear of going outside, a real dilemma is the result. Most everyone with a panic anxiety disorder will state they don't want to be imprisoned or lonely, but are too afraid to seek help. If a family member or loved one can patiently assist in guiding them toward an appointment with a physician or mental health provider they would be giving their loved one an invaluable gift.
